My first time! I will never forget it! I remember how I made my first sale from affiliate marketing with Youtube. It was something that I planned, but I didn’t really expect to get any results because I didn’t have much success doing it. I also never ranked any Youtube videos so I was 0 for 2. Then just by accident, I happened to check my affiliate portal only to see some numbers with dollar signs next to it!
Probably one of the most hilarious things about me checking the portal and seeing profits from affiliate commissions was that I had no idea from where the tracking link came from! I placed the link in a Youtube video of mine and it literally took me a few minutes to understand what was going on! That’s how confident I was when it came to making money from affiliate marketing with Youtube.
Though I felt like the results was an accident, there was a science and a method to my madness that got my video thousands of views, ranked #1 for my keywords and that is what resulted in $ale$. Here is what I did:
Found Something Trending
I was creating some graphics with Canva as I do everyday and I wanted to add some filters to the picture. I remember that in the past, I was able to make some cool effects to my pictures in Picmonkey that Canva does not have the power to do.
Once I got to Picmonkey, I noticed that my account wasn’t working and that they wanted me to upgrade to a paid account. So then I researched to see what was going on and then I stumbled upon an articles that said Picmonkey services will no longer be free. This was BIG NEWS for the internet marketing community!
This was the perfect opportunity to test out this whole Youtube Marketing theory. I knew that people would be looking for information about this and of course Youtube would be one of the first places that people look for when it comes to updates.
I then went to Youtube and typed in the keywords “picmonkey is no longer free” and a few videos came up, but they only had a few views and they didn’t put much in their descriptions under the video (more about that later). With all of the new information I learned and courses I took, I knew that I had a chance to rank this video very well with the keywords “picmonkey is no longer free”.
Create video with keywords
After you find something that is trending, you have to create a video. You want to make sure that you provide great content for the viewer, but most importantly you have to rank the video, and you do this with keywords.
My keywords were “picmonkey is no longer free” and my video is #1. I also rank for “picmonkey is not free anymore” in the 2nd position. I was able to do so good because I used keywords with low competition as well as strategically structuring my description under the video.
If you go to my video on Youtube and you expand the description, you will see that I wrote a lengthy description about what I was to speak about. I also put links to my blog and social media. Most importantly, I placed my keywords in there. Read it carefully. You will see that I sprinkled it in there about 3-4 times.
As you will begin to see, it was by an accident that I rank so high with my Youtube video and why I received thousands of views. HORAYYYY! A pat on my back! This was a huge accomplishment for me.
*Food for thought – Just like I taught in the blog post….I have now created a success story for my audience and I can promote with an affiliate product to go along with it. This is what testimonials is all about.
Anyone can do this. It takes a little bit of thought and time to research but it is well worth it once you begin to see results. I once heard a person say “It is no coincidence that successful people are successful. They were successful before everyone knew about it”. In other words, the mindset, the work habits, the research behind the scenes, all of those things is what brings forth success.
All of a sudden that person begins to make big profits or someone with influence takes notice of that individual and then the whole world knows about that individual. They didn’t just become successful on that day, but they already had the habits of success without the profits behind them showing it. You must be the same way.
