Affiliate marketing with Youtube for beginners using videos in 2018 is one of the best and easiest ways to make money. As of right now Youtube is free to post videos on. I personally have a feeling that it will not be free in the near future. As for right now for free, learning this method allows you to create a machine that works for you while you’re sleep!
You may be asking yourselves how does one actually do this? You see many other people posting up videos and they have thousands of views. They make videos of how much money they have made or they teach something that took a whole bunch of money to learn. How do they actually make money?
You don’t have the “know-how” that these people have and you definitely don’t know how to get thousands of views. Does that sound like you at all? Fear not, because I said a lot of the same things in my Youtube-life (which hasn’t been long at all)…until I began to take Youtube marketing seriously in late 2017.
As a beginning Youtuber and a struggling affiliate marketer, I had to find something consistent to supplement my income. I have a blog, I’m a pretty decent Facebook marketer, and I’m in real estate. However I get tired of hustlin’, and I want something to work for me for a change.
Youtube is supposed to bring all of my skills and knowledge together so that I can generate profits in my sleep. I’ve made videos in the past, but I never got the results that I desired. You can see my YouTube channel to look at my old videos and you will see what I’m talking about.
I would have great content to share, tons of great ideas, but my videos would NEVER get any views. If you don’t have any views, you can’t make any money because no one sees your promotions/offers in the video or in the description box under your video. I had to create something in order to get the viewer’s eyes to look at my affiliate offers!
Then I had to get over the phobia of getting in front of the camera. That was, and still is a battle in itself. There are times where I have pre-written the content and delayed creating a video for a whole month because I would make excuses as to why I can’t record it. I can’t explain it! It’s a crazy feeling!
Finally after mustering up the courage to get in front of a camera and seeing the new wrinkles on my face after hitting my 30s while looking on the computer screen, I finally hit the record button to do my thing. After a while, I finally get in the flow of things so that I can do product reviews and tutorials.
At the time of writing this blog post, I have a full tutorial lesson on Facebook Ads for business that I haven’t recorded yet because I don’t want to get in front of the camera! It’s a struggle for me!
At some point, these “issues” of mine just become stupid excuses…and I hate excuses. Something had to change. I got serious and I took a few training courses about Youtube. I took a course by Christine Maisel called YouTube SEO: How to Create, Rank & Profit From YouTube Video and she goes into super detail of ranking videos on youtube with seo. It’s not hard!
The hard thing to do is find something that you can rank for. As an affiliate marketer, this is where you need to become an EXPERT because without this part, you will not rank on Youtube, which means you won’t make money. This is what separates the tire-kickers in affiliate marketing on YouTube for beginners.
The first thing I recommend you needing to do is catch something that is trending within your niche. For me, that was Picmonkey releasing some crazy news. You can read about it in the blog post Picmonkey no longer free.
I then typed in the title in YouTube to see if anyone had made any videos about it and there were only a few. So I setup my title, created my video, added my seo, and for the first time ever, my video was ranked on the 1 page of YouTube! What an incredible feeling!
As you see in the picture above, I have the number one ranked video for that keyword. Because this was a trending topic, my video has received over 3,000+ views. The most important part was that I placed an affiliate link in my description to drive affiliate offers.
The offer I selected has monthly occurrence which means any leads that I bring in, they have to pay a monthly subscription, and that means I also get a monthly commission check! Cha-ching!
It’s a numbers game. The more views you get on your video, the more money you can make with your affiliate offers. It’s a simple business.
In your case, you just need to pump out a few videos a week and throw some affiliate offers in there. Be intentional about your research, keywords, and seo. That is where the magic happens.
You will see results when you do the right techniques. The second I got serious about affiliate marketing with YouTube videos, I instantly saw the results. Trust me, it feels great to put in the work for something and then you immediately see results.
If you were like me, ashamed of being in front of the camera, the only advice I can give to you is to be like NIKE and just do it!
Make 4 videos about something and then post 1 video each week. Do this each month. It takes off the urgency of creating something at the last minute. That way you don’t feel like you’re missing the mark if you didn’t create a video that week.
Take 3-4 days to create the content, and then make the video. Instead of stressing on the video, meditate on the fact that your videos will be working for you like “employees” as Mike Vestil would say, and each month you can see commissions of $100 a month. Then the $100 turns into $300 an so forth.
Because you put in the work that everyone else is scared to do, intentionally, you will reap the profits as well. You also want to keep in mind that this service may not be free in the future. There are already tv shows that are only accessible via Youtube Red which you have to pay for. Time is running out! Get them videos up!
Make sure that that affiliate products that you’re offering are relevant to your audience as well. I found an awesome offer for debt consolidation that pays out $120 per lead. If you’re in education, don’t promote debt consolidation to your audience in the description of your YouTube video.
You want to provide value in your video AND your affiliate offers. Value first, money will eventually come. Sometimes you may just reference another blog because they give such great advice! Then later, you can contact that blog owner and tell them that you referenced them. In return, they may interview you and that could be the start of huge growth for you! Get creative!
Whatever you do, make sure you’re consistent. For me, a video a week is perfect. That is something that I have committed to. I write my blog articles first, and then I create a video based on that article.
In order to edit my video, do the seo for my video along with keyword research, AND finding the proper affiliate offers for it, a few days would be needed. I don’t like to feel rushed, so a week is great timing.
For others, they can do 2 videos a month. They may not have the time that I have because they have kids. Others may not have a job so they have all the time in the world and they can pump out a video each day.
The point I’m getting at is find something that works with your schedule and STICK TO IT. Don’t change it. Make it a priority. Like I said earlier about ranking your videos, be intentional about creating your videos as well. People will not take you seriously if you don’t take your Youtube marketing seriously. Your viewers can tell.
If you have any questions, hit me up. I can’t explain everything in one articles when it comes to affiliate marketing with YouTube vides. That’s why I created other blog posts and videos for you.
Go swimming and take a nose-dive in my content. I do this for you! YouTube marketing is the way to go this year. Hop on the Tsunami before it turns into one of those small ripples in the water that barely touches the beach shore. Emancipation Occupation baby!
